What is a Parasitic Lifestyle?

A parasitic lifestyle involves an individual who is the parasite and depends upon another individual considered to be the host of the parasite. The parasite is solely dependent on the host to an extent of even harming the host. But the parasite cannot leave the shelter of the host hence he is habituated to this lifestyle for his survival.

It is hard to differentiate between a normal human being and one who is a parasite because there is no such element to mark them from the outside. But people who are good observers can identify the parasitic lifestyle one is going through and can see the line between a normal human being and a parasite.

How to determine someone living a parasitic lifestyle?

You cannot differentiate between a parasite and a normal individual if you have not known them for quite a long time. Another very vital thing is that parasites or psychopaths need not necessarily be criminals but anyone from your known periphery. Since we are mostly emotionally attached to our near and dear ones, it becomes difficult for us to identify if someone within our close periphery is a psychopath or a sociopath. Even after noticing some weird and unusual habits, we tend to overlook them. Various studies have derived some very significant characteristics of psychopaths in detail and Prof Robert Here is the most important name in this context. The assessment he has made helps to determine who is a psychopath and who is not. The foremost characteristic of a psychopath is that he has no emotional connection with his host or the one he is dependent upon. Psychopaths are most distant from their close people like parents, friends, and partners. A psychopath can commit a heinous crime like murdering the closest person. The normal emotional quotient is missing in the parasites.

When is a parasitic lifestyle a disorder?

Let’s not generalize and learn to classify parasites into two types. All of them are not criminals or psychopaths. They can be dependent on another individual emotionally, financially, or on many other levels. Some of them are too lazy to get up from their beds and go to work. They can sit in their beds or couches for hours and not help out the other individual. They can be termed as lazy but psychopaths or sociopaths. There is a huge difference between a lazy person and a psychopath.

Although not every one of them is a criminal, most of them have a criminal or abusive background or might have one in the future. If you go through the studies or interview them you might come across some people who are willing to kill another individual. On the other hand, you’ll see no guilt or anything about the thoughts because they enjoy the thoughts of murdering someone.

So it is not completely right to call a parasitic lifestyle a disorder but it becomes one when the individual contains criminal thoughts and is prone to making crimes.

What are the treatments for parasitic lifestyles?

The only treatment for a parasitic lifestyle is proper psychological and psychiatric well-being and treatment. It is important for them to regularly see a psychiatrist and maintain the routine that she/he recommends. But this whole process should be performed as early as possible. Don’t wait for that individual to go extreme hence take action before it’s too late. They can be cured only through empathy, talk therapies, and psychiatric medications. The experts have their ways to carry on with the procedures. The kind of therapy or medication varies from person to person and there is no general remedy for this disorder. But make sure that the individual is taken to the psychiatrist at the earliest.
